The teachers have been extremely impressed with the children’s progress and with their enthusiasm. The children are looking forward to sharing their musical talent with you during a wider opportunities performance on Friday 14th February 2020. The performance will start at 1:40pm and will finish around 2pm. No tickets are necessary for the performance.

Homework

Homework will be given out every Friday and should be handed in by the following Friday, if not before. Apart from spelling homework which goes out on a Wednesday.

Year 5

Year 5 children will receive the following homework

  • Spellings which will be tested weekly
  • Handwriting practise
  • Word search to help embed spellings
  • Mathletics
  • Times tables practise

Year 6

Year 6 children will receive the following homework

  • Spellings which will be tested weekly
  • Handwriting practise
  • Word search to help embed spellings
  • Mathletics
  • Times tables practise
  • Reading comprehension or grammar work

Mathletics is accessed online which requires a personal login. All the children have been given their login details and have been shown how to access the website. A copy of their login details will be kept in class, which they will have access to at any time, if they ever forget or lose the one I send home. The mathletics work will relate to what we have been covering in class each week. The children will have a week to complete the different activities online

The children should also be reading at home on a regular basis, every night if possible, with a comment made in their reading record each time.

A recommendation of 30 minutes a night is suggested for key stage 2 children, to spend on homework.
